PENGARUH PROFITABILITAS, LIKUIDITAS TERHADAP RETURN SAHAM PERUSAHAAN MANUFAKTUR YANG TERDAFTAR DI BEI

This research examines the effect of profitability and liquidity on stock returns of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, focusing on PT Siantar Top Tbk during the 2020–2024 period. The study uses a quantitative method with secondary data comprising 15 samples. The independent variables are profitability and liquidity, while the dependent variable is stock return. The aim is to assess the relationship and influence among these variables. The results show that profitability has a negative and significant effect on liquidity, with p-values of 0.525 and 0.768 (> 0.05), indicating that the intercept is not significant. Profitability has a positive and significant effect on stock return, supported by a t-value of 0.764 > t-table value of 0.727, suggesting that the larger the company's debt, the higher the Return on Equity (ROE). Liquidity has a negative and significant effect on stock return, indicated by a t-value of -0.337 < t-table of -0.727, meaning higher liquidity reflects stronger ability to meet short-term financial obligations. Simultaneously, profitability and liquidity do not significantly influence stock returns, as shown by the F-count value of 0.292, which is lower than the F-table value of 3.49.
